Sannie is passionate about the intersection of community and environment and is working to become a public librarian. Sannie is the returning Fruit Gleaning Assistant and will be organizing fruit picking events for this season. In her free time she enjoys working in her garden swimming, hiking, camping, live music, photography and traveling.Ĭontact at Fruit Gleaning Intern – Sannie Chie Her passion for environmental sustainability, farming, gardening and herbal plant medicines brought her to work in regenerative agriculture and local food systems. She worked in advertising for 4 years before moving to BC looking to do more meaningful, nature and community based work. Paige has her BA in Creative Advertising from Humber College in Toronto. She is currently a Community Planning student.Ĭontact at Community Programs Assistant – Paige Leslie She has spent the last five years in the non-profit and private sectors while honing her organic farming skills on Salt Spring Island, Toronto, Japan, and the Okanagan. She graduated from UBC with a BA in Political Science and was driven to build equitable food systems. Steph is the Community Programs Lead and manages our Pop Up Market and Fruit Recovery Program, while co-managing the Community Gardens. Grace feels passionate about building and supporting a sustainable local food system.Ĭontact at Community Programs Lead – Stephanie Mak She completed her Masters at UBC, focusing on the impact of crop rotation, livestock, and the use of cover crops on soil health. She worked extensively at the KPU research and teaching farms, doing fieldwork on agroecosystem management and restorative agriculture. Grace graduated from the Sustainable Agriculture and Policy Program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) and completed her Masters in Soil Science at the University of British Columbia.
